Santiam Homes is in its 35th year of continuous operation of retailing manufactured homes in the Great Northwest. We began operations in Silverton, Oregon as a "mobile-home" park, selling "mobile homes" to "seniors" that were nearing retirement age and looking forward to living "the good-life." Within a few short years, a potential retail location on Hwy. 22 (near Stayton) became available and Santiam Mobile Homes was officially formed.
Speculating on the growth of Salem to the east and the potential housing needs of the Santiam Valley, Dan Carver formed "Santiam Mobile Homes" and that same basic company has been in continuous operation since 1969. "We have witnessed many changes over the years," says Dan, "but the one thing that has not changed is that people are still looking to fulfill the Great American Dream of home ownership. Today, thirty plus years later, having watched land and improvement prices skyrocket, that dream of home ownership and to fulfill that dream, it truly makes me feel good to look back and know that I may have had a small part in making many dreams come true."
Santiam Homes is not a small "Mom and Pop" operation. We are consistently in the top three retailers in the State of Oregon and many times have achieved the NUMBER ONE position. We are the largest retailer in the state for Champion and Karsten and also we've added Silvercrest Classic and have achieved countless awards for quality and customer satisfaction. With two locations, Aumsville/Stayton and Woodburn, our specialty has become land-home packaging and special financing.
